Mom Is Here!!!

Good news today, my mom is here!! Big Yay!! It was very good to see her, and she has given me hugs from all of you that have sent them this way. Thank you!

We got just back from visiting Craig, and he looked good today. He was moving his feet a little and his head, and I think I saw his eye blink. The nurses said that he is doing great. A doctor went to check on him this morning, even though it was not a scheduled check, and he also said Craig is going great. So he is getting lots of great care, and that is good news!!

His breathing continues to improve as when he was first admitted to the ICU his breaths were very laboured and small. He seems to be breathing at a more normal pace and they don't seem as laboured. This is also good news.

It has been a more encouraging morning, and I have yet to cry today. Yay! :) We are making small steps to recovery. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Love,
Kristin for Craig too

  3. Kristen, Deb Ellis here. The staff here at Crestwicke have been praying since we learned of Craig's accident. I'm writing to personally encourage you. My son Chris, married a beautiful girl named Kristine almost two years ago. They have a beautiful baby boy named Brayden. When Kristine was a small child (about 4 yrs old) she was in a severe car accident and was not buckled in. She was thrown from the vehicle. She was declared dead on the operating table due to severe head injury. They managed to revive her and her family was told she would not make it through the night. But she did. She remained in a drug-induced coma for about 9 days, I believe. When she came out of that, she needed to learn to walk and talk again. It was a long haul to good health...several years of therapy, but today she is happy, healthy and the mother of an active 1 year old! You wouldn't know she had ever experienced such a devastating setback! The hospital in BC where she stayed still uses the video of her experience to teach families and staff about brain injury and that there can be miraculous healing where none was thought possible. God is good! We believe he has a special plan for Kristine and bringing her into our family was part of that plan. I'm praying for a similar miracle for you and Craig. Miracles do happen! Jer 29:11 is the life verse Steve and I hang onto. "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." I hope that as you wait to see what God has in store for you that you are comforted by this story and this verse. :) P.S. - Nyah remembers you fondly and she is also praying for you both! xoxo

  6. Stay strong Kristin and never give up! Our hearts go out to you and your family as you endure this dark valley of uncertainty. God is good and as I thought of you I thought of Abraham and Sarah. God told them they would have a child when they were in their nineties and Abraham laughed. God said, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Genesis 18:14 Cling to His promises and we'll continue to pray! God bless,
    Sandy and Esther and family

  10. And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. <- Abe Lincoln
Craig had so many years in his life. There will never be another like him. He has touched so many people, and will always be remembered in our hearts.
Our thoughts are with you & your families.

  11. May the blessings of God guide you through this journey and may your faith strengthen your love for the memories you were able to share in such a short span.

I knew Craig as a young boy but I now feel I have known him as the man he became. Such pride for all who have touched his life.

  12. I grew up with Craig and was good friends with him as a child. All my memories of him are nothing but pleasant. Although we grew apart I would run into him from time to time, as well he messaged me for advice when going to Korea (I have also taught there). He was respected and liked by everyone and was they type of person this world needs more of.
